About Professor Hongbo Wang

Hongbo Wang received his BS and MS degrees from Institute of Northeast Heavy Machinery, Qiqihar, China in 1982 and 1986. He received his Ph.D degree from Nagasaki University, Nagasaki, Japan in 1997. He studied as a visiting scholar in the Institute of Robotics, ETH Zuerich, Switzerland from 1992 to 1993. After that, he moved to Nagasaki University as a researcher. From 1998, he worked in Daihen Corporation as a deputy manager, Osaka, Japan. Since 2007, he has been working with Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao, China as a professor. Since 2017, he has also become a chair professor at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He published about 150 papers in journal and international conference. Since 2012, He presided over and undertook more than ten national projects. His current research interests are in rehabilitation robot and assisting robot for the disabled and the elderly.
