About Dr. Ahmed Kattan
Ahmed Kattan finished his PhD from the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at University of Essex (UK) in 2010. He received his MSc in Software Engineering from the same university in 2007 and his Bsc from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2005.
Ahmed is mainly interested in Evolutionary Computation and his main research interest lays in the applications of Genetic Programming (GP). To that extent, Ahmed has recently developed a series of universal compression systems based on the GP referred to as the GP-zip family. In addition, heĀ proposed several new novel algorithms based on the use of GP for several applications such as: data type analysis, Muscle Fatigue prediction and problem decomposing.
Ahmed Kattan's professional experience includes working as a programmer on the Saudi Arabian E-Government project in 2005 and teaching at School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at University of Essex since 2007. Ahmed is also a founder of the PhD CEEC conference series that have started in 2009.
Overall, Ahmed is interested in contributing to the field of Computational Intelligence and develop smarter applications in order to solve complex problems and to enhance our life style.
