About Assistant Professor Christina Beneki

Dr Christina C. Beneki is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics-Statistics and Associate Head of the Department of Business Administration at Technological Institution of Ionian Islands. She is teaching Quantitative Research Methods, Statistics for Business and Economics, Financial Mathematics, Mathematics for Business & Economics and Operations Research. She holds a Ph.D. in Differential Geometry from University of Patras and a M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics with distinction from the same University. She received a departmental distinction scholarship throughout her undergraduate studies for distinguished academic performance for the consecutive years 1990-93 and also a Ph.D. completion scholarship from the Greek State Scholarship’s Foundation upon placing third in nationwide examinations. Also, she was elected as the President of the Association of Postgraduate Students of the University of Patras in 2000-2001. During the summer sessions of 2005-2009 she was a visiting lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and in the Business School of State University of New York at New Paltz, USA, where she taught Linear Algebra, Combinatorics and Statistics for Business & Economics II. Since joining the faculty in the Department of Business Administration in November 2008, Dr Beneki has participated in international conferences in business and economics, garnering three awards for outstanding research and best session papers. Her research interests and publications focus on statistical and econometric methods (time series econometrics, Singular Spectrum Analysis) and models applied to business and economics. Since October 2008, she is also a coordinator of the Laboratory for the Educational Network of School Innovation, sponsored by seven National Foundations.
