About Associate Professor Xueming Qian

Xueming Qian (M’10) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Xi’an University of Technology, Xi’an, China, in 1999 and 2004, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, in 2008. He was awarded Microsoft fellowship in 2006. From 1999 to 2001, he was an Assistant Engineer at Shaanxi Daily. From 2008 till now, he is an associate professor of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University. He was a visit scholar at Microsoft research Asia from Aug. 2010 to March 2011. His researches are founded by NSFC, National “863” Project, and many companies, including Huawei, Microsoft Research Asia. He is on the editor board of international journals: Recent Patents on Telecommunications and Asia Transations. He is a session chair of VIE 2008 and TPC member of ICME. He is the reviewers of IEEE TCSVT, IEEE TMM, Signal Processing: Image Comm., Pattern Recognition Letters, IET Image Processing, IET Computer Vision, Neurocomputing, Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, Journal of Computer Science and Technology, Digital Signal Processing, and many international conferences. He holds 15 Chinese patents or pending applications. He publishes more than 30 papers in international conferences and journals.
