ABSTRACT
The paper aims to offer a reflection on the need to adopt new organizational methods in the
tourism-cultural sector of a specific geographical area of the Calabria region. The research is
conducted through a qualitative approach. The analysis of the literature allows us to reconstruct a
theoretical framework of reference and, by examining the strategic profiles, identifies the reasons
behind desirable new organizational models. The investigation, through the in-depth analysis of a
case study, also allows us to investigate the strategic role that some particular types of museums,
due to their peculiarities, can play in encouraging the creation of cultural networks with positive
repercussions in the dynamics of local growth. The work reaches its conclusions by trying to
identify the reasons that can make some particular museums facilitators of territorial aggregation
processes according to the logic of sustainable development.
